Edgewell Personal Care Issues Voluntary Nationwide Recall of Banana Boat Hair & Scalp Sunscreen Due to the Presence of Benzene
SHELTON, Conn., July 29, 2022 – Edgewell Personal Care Company (NYSE: EPC) today issued a voluntary nationwide recall of three batches of Banana Boat Hair & Scalp Sunscreen Spray SPF 30 to the consumer level as outlined in the table below. An internal review found that some samples of the product contained trace levels of benzene. While benzene is not an ingredient in any Banana Boat products, the review showed that unexpected levels of benzene came from the propellant that sprays the product out of the can.
Importantly, no other batches of Hair & Scalp (either before or after these batch codes) and no other Banana Boat products are in the scope of this recall and may continue to be used by consumers safely and as intended.

Lyons Magnus Voluntarily Recalls 53 Nutritional and Beverage Products Due To The Potential For Microbial Contamination
FRESNO, Calif. – July 28, 2022 – Lyons Magnus LLC (“Lyons Magnus” or the “Company”) today announced that it is voluntarily recalling nutritional and beverage products due to the potential for microbial contamination, including from the organism Cronobacter sakazakii. The list of recalled products does not include products intended for infants (i.e. under the age of one). While infection related to Cronobacter sakazakii is rare, the common symptoms of illness could include fever, vomiting and urinary tract infection. However, vulnerable and immunocompromised populations may be more susceptible to infection. To date, no illnesses or complaints related to these products have been reported. The recalled products should not be consumed.
Wilbur’s of Maine Chocolate Confections Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Almonds in Chocolate Covered Blueberries
Wilbur’s of Maine Chocolate Confections of Freeport, Maine is recalling its 8 oz resealable package of milk chocolate covered blueberries because they may contain undeclared chocolate covered almonds. People who have allergies to almonds run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The recalled Milk Chocolate Blueberries were distributed throughout New England, in retail stores, and nationwide through mail orders.
The product comes in Wilbur’s branded 8-ounce, resealable zippered pouch bag, with UPC # 81321300430 and an expiration date of April 5, 2023 stamped on the backside.
Wismettac Asian Foods Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Wheat and Soy in Dashi Soup Base
Wismettac Asian Foods, Inc., Santa Fe Springs, CA is recalling 17.6 oz packages of Marutomo Dashi Soup Base because they may contain undeclared wheat and soy. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat and soy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The product was distributed in California and Nevada through restaurants and retail stores.
The product comes in a 17.6 oz, blue plastic package with a sticker label in English on the back side of the package. The affected Best Before dates were distributed between July 1, 2021 and July 22, 2022. The UPC for the product is 074410374020.
