TFP Nutrition is expanding their voluntary recall that was initiated to include all dry dog, dry cat, and catfish formulas manufactured in their Nacogdoches, Texas, facility. The recall of these production codes is being conducted due to the potential for Salmonella contamination.
Individuals handling dry pet food can become infected with Salmonella, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with surfaces exposed to this product. Healthy people infected with Salmonella should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping, and fever. Rarely, Salmonella can result in more serious ailments, including arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, and urinary tract symptoms. Consumers exhibiting these signs after having contact with this product should contact their healthcare providers. Children, the elderly, and individuals with compromised immune systems may be at greater risk of Salmonella infection.
Mid America Pet Food Expands Voluntary Recall to Include Additional Dog and Cat Food Products Due to Possible Salmonella Health Risk
Mid America Pet Food, Mount Pleasant, Texas, is expanding its October 30, 2023, voluntary recall to include additional pet food products, with Best By Dates before 10/31/24, made at its Mount Pleasant facility, due to the products’ potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella can affect animals eating the products, and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products.

SugarMDs LLC Issues Voluntary Nationwide Recall of Advanced Glucose Support Supplements Capsules Due to Presence of Undeclared Glyburide and Metformin
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –November 8, 2023 – Maryland Heights, MO, SugarMDs, LLC is voluntarily recalling Lot: 22165-003 Advance Glucose Support Supplement in 60, 120 and 180 count bottles to the consumer level. FDA analysis has found the product to be tainted with glyburide and metformin. Glyburide and Metformin are active ingredients found in several FDA-approved prescription drugs used to treat type 2 diabetes. Products containing glyburide and metformin cannot be marketed as dietary supplements. Advanced Glucose Support Supplement is an unapproved new drug for which safety and efficacy have not been established and, therefore, subject to recall.

USA Hookah, LLC dba Eltahan of Paterson, New Jersey is recalling 400 gm packages of Eltahan Golden Raisins, because it may contain undeclared sulfites. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
Eltahan Gold Raisins was distributed in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania to consumers through retail stores.
The recalled Eltahan Golden Raisins are packaged in a 400 gram, clear plastic package, with UPC 2337660022. The product is labeled with a production date of January 2023 and a best by date of January 20, 2026, which can be found on the bottom right side of the front label.
Vinyard Fruit and Vegetable Company Recalls Cantaloupe Due to Potential Salmonella Contamination
For Immediate Release – November 14, 2023 - Vinyard Fruit and Vegetable Company, located in Oklahoma City, OK, has initiated a voluntary recall of all fresh-cut cantaloupe products listed below because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometime fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy people infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare instances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
Due to the 11/8/2023 recall of fresh, whole cantaloupes by Sophia Foods, LLC (DBA Trufresh) of Nogales, AZ, in response to a notification by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency of a potential contamination with Salmonella, Vinyard Fruit and Vegetable Company is issuing this recall. Cantaloupes recalled by Sophia Foods LLC were used as a raw material in Vinyard cantaloupe products listed below.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with subject cantaloupes, to date.

Grandy Organics Cancels Recall of Gluten Free Honey Oat Granola. Third Party Laboratory Error Resulted in Falsley Identifying Presence of Coconut
Hiram, Maine (November 9, 2023) – Grandy Organics, makers of organic granolas, nuts and trail mixes based in the rural town of Hiram, Maine, announced today that they have retracted their recall of Gluten Free Honey Oat Granola that was publicized over the weekend. After proper testing and cooperation with the FDA, all Grandy Organics products, including Gluten Free Honey Oat Granola, are proven safe to consume.
Grandy Organics provided repacked samples of the product to the potential distributor who in turn had it tested at their labs for their own Quality Assurance records. Friday November 3rd the distributor informed Grandy Organics that traces of coconut were discovered at 6 parts per million in the Gluten Free Honey Oat sample they were given. Because coconut is a dangerous allergen, Grandy moved quickly.

Frito-Lay today issued a voluntary recall of 16,100 bags of 6 ¼ oz. Off The Eaten Path Chickpea Veggie Crisps that may contain undeclared milk ingredients due to the unintended presence of caramel seasoned crisps. The recall is the result of an investigation following a consumer complaint. Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume product contained inside the recalled bags.
Consumers would have been able to purchase them as early as September 13, 2023. Hearn Kirkwood Issues Safety Alert on Undeclared Soy and Milk in Various Croissant Sandwiches
JESSUP, MD, November 06, 2023 – Hearn Kirkwood of Jessup, Md., is issuing a voluntary recall of 5,895 clamshell containers of various Croissant Sandwiches because its labeling did not identify the following allergens in the product: soy and milk. People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to these allergens run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. Customers with allergies or sensitivities to soy or milk should discard the product.
The affected sandwiches were distributed from October 20, 2023 and November 3, 2023, in the states of: Alabama, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Nurse Assist, LLC Issues Recall of 0.9% Sodium Chloride Irrigation USP and Sterile Water for Irrigation USP Nationwide and to Canada
On November 6, 2023, Nurse Assist, LLC initiated a voluntary recall of 0.9% sodium chloride irrigation USP and sterile water for irrigation USP, due to the potential for a lack of sterility assurance, which could result in a nonsterile product. In populations most at risk, such as patients who are immunocompromised, there is a possibility that the use of the affected product could potentially result in severe or life-threatening adverse events.
To date, Nurse Assist, LLC has not received any reports of adverse events for these products.
The product was distributed in the United States and Canada. Recalled Product was distributed from November 1, 2021 to September 18, 2023.
