Insurers Making Changes to Coverage due to COVID

As COVID numbers start an uptick, private insurers are making additional changes to their coverage policies. United Healthcare is expanding cost share waivers for their Medicare Advantage and Group Market Health Plans for certain services.

In addition, they have extended the telehealth benefit for COVID related services and NON COVID related services through December 31. Telehealth for Medicare Advantage patients continues to be available under a waiver for out-of-network services. This was scheduled to end on October 22, but now will be continued through the duration of the public health emergency.
